Last weekend the Catalonia Championship of the Europe class was held. The Europes team, composed of Joan and Anna Pla, Thomas Prats, Sara Ayats, Matteo Galindo, and Aina Artalejo, demonstrated their talent and skill in this sport.
A favorable westerly wind
With a cooperative climate, our sailors were able to enjoy favorable weather conditions throughout the weekend.
On Saturday, a westerly wind blowing at 10-12 knots marked the beginning of the competition.
On Sunday, despite starting with a similar wind, the intensity decreased slightly throughout the day. However, it allowed a total of 5 out of the 6 scheduled races to take place.
The successful results of the Catalonia Championship of the Europe class 2024
Among a group of 24 participants, our sailors achieved excellent results. Sara Ayats achieved an impressive 10th position in the overall ranking, also securing the second place in the Sub20 women’s category. Matteo Galindo finished in 13th position, and Joan Pla classified in 16th place.
Anna Pla showcased her talent by becoming the Catalonia Champion in the Sub18 women’s category and securing the third place in the Sub20 women’s category. Aina Artalejo reached the 21st position, while Thomas Prats concluded the classification in the 23rd position.
The podium celebration was a moment of great satisfaction for the Club’s sailors, and with this performance, we closed a weekend full of emotions!
