Santa Llúcia Festival in l’Estartit
Santa Llúcia 2023
Next Wednesday, December 13th, l’Estartit will celebrate the Santa Llúcia Festival 2023. According to legend, it is said that Santa Llúcia had her eyes gouged out, a belief that may stem from her name Lucis Via (path of light) or the proximity of the event to the winter solstice. Displaying the natural irony of the Catalan people, the saint is invoked as the patroness of the blind and many professions that require good vision, such as milliners, seamstresses, or artists. That’s why every December 13th, the martyrdom of this girl is commemorated in different towns in the Catalan territory. In l’Estartit, you will find a wide variety of activities for the whole family.
The Santa Llúcia Festival in l’Estartit will run from December 9th to 17th, 2023. This celebration will kick off the Christmas season with activities related to Christmas. During these days, l’Estartit will have a Christmassy atmosphere, with the inauguration of the nativity scene, the tree of wishes, contests, and traditional Christmas songs.
The Book of Santa Llúcia
On the same Wednesday, at 12 p.m. noon, the presentation of the new edition of the Book of Santa Llúcia will take place. A book that, year after year, gathers and illustrates the main information that has been news in the town over the last twelve months. From the Club, we encourage our community to buy the Book of Santa Llúcia with the intention of collaborating with the town and its entities. The Club Nàutic Estartit also contributes by inserting a Christmas greeting.
We take this opportunity to inform you that on Wednesday, December 13th, the offices of the Club Nàutic Estartit will remain closed. On the other hand, the marina’s on-duty service will be active for any needs or emergencies that may arise.
Happy Santa Llúcia Festival to everyone!
