II Memorial Jordi Serra i Xavi Miró
On November 18th and 19th, the II Memorial Jordi Serra i Xavi Miró took place at the Club Nàutic Masnou. This year, the regatta brought together a total of twenty-two participants eager to achieve the best results. Representing the Club Nàutic Estartit, some members of the European Team competed, including Joan Pla, Anna Pla, Sara Ayats, Matteo Galindo, and Aina Artalejo.
The weather conditions greatly influenced the event. Despite planning six races, only four could be completed due to unpredictable winds. On Saturday, with southwestern winds ranging between 8 and 14 knots, the first four races were held. On Sunday, despite the competitors’ eagerness, the wind didn’t blow with sufficient strength, preventing the completion of the remaining two races.
Results
Regarding the results, the best-placed competitor from the Club was Sara Ayats, securing the fifth position in the general category. Focusing on the female categories, she achieved the first position in the Sub-18 category and the second position in the absolute female category.
The other members of the team achieved less prominent positions: Matteo Galindo secured the eighth position in the general category; Joan Pla, the eighteenth; Aina Artalejo, the nineteenth; and Anna Pla, the twentieth.
This regatta wasn’t just another opportunity to compete; it was also a crucial phase in preparation for the upcoming challenge: the Spanish Championship. This championship will take place at the Club Nàutic Masnou facilities from December 6th to 10th.
