The Ports of Costa Brava kick off ECONàutic 2024

13 April 2024 Activities and Events

Last Wednesday, April 10th, the Ports of Costa Brava gathered to kick off ECONàutic 2024.

ECONàutic 2024, the guide to becoming responsible sailors

Following the success of the first ECONàutic project, ECONàutic 2024 is born, led by Boris Weitzmann and Xavier Munill. This project is a call to environmental consciousness within the world of sailing.

Our marine environment is unique, and sailing carries a significant commitment to the environment. Irresponsible practices can contribute to the degradation of marine ecosystems, loss of biodiversity, and destruction of coastal landscapes.

Therefore, ECONàutic 2024 aims to highlight practices that minimize the environmental impact of sailing, such as: responsible waste management, sustainable energy use, biodiversity protection, and conservation of coastal landscapes, among others. By making known all those small actions that sailors can perform collectively, we help to live in balance with the environment and preserve it for present and future generations.

Project drivers

The Club Nàutic Estartit leads the ECONàutic 2024 project. We present ourselves as an entity with initiative and a spirit of continuous improvement. For this reason, we assume environmental responsibility. We are committed to promoting and raising awareness among port users of good practices at sea and on land.

Other ports of the Costa Bava collaborate in the project, including: the Club Nàutic de Sant Miquel de Colera, the Port de Roses, the Port Marina Palamós, the Club Nàutic l’Escala, the Club Nàutic Sant Feliu, the Club Nàutic Port de la Selva, and the Club Vela Blanes.
