This weekend, on February 3rd and 4th, the IX Guíxols Cup was held in Sant Feliu de Guíxols, gathering a total of 22 participants. Seven of our sailors took part in representation of the Club.

The IX Guíxols Cup

The IX Guíxols Cup consisted of 6 races, 3 each day. The regatta was conducted with a single race, using fleet navigation format, and the course set to Wind 12/02.

The event kicked off on Saturday, February 3rd, at 10:30 am with the technical meeting, and the first race signal was given at 12:00 pm. The second day started at 11:00 am on Sunday, and the award ceremony was scheduled for around 5:00 pm.

Results reflecting the Commitment of Our Sailors

In the standings, it’s worth noting Isaac Vilà’s well-deserved fourth position. Sara Ayats achieved the fifth position and also secured the third female position and second in the Sub20 category.

Matteo Galindo secured the seventh position, while Joan Pla finished in thirteenth place. On the other hand, Aina Artalejo placed ninth and achieved the first position in the Sub18 category.

Thomas Prats occupied the twentieth position, and Anna Pla finished twenty-first and second in the Sub18 category. These results reflect the commitment and skill of our sailors, who faced all the challenges with determination and expertise.

The weather conditions were comfortable and favorable, with westerly winds ranging between 12 and 14 knots on Saturday, and 6 to 8 knots on Sunday. The 6 scheduled races were carried out very successfully.

This regatta was not only about competition but also an opportunity for our sailors to prepare for the upcoming Spanish Cup, which will take place from February 15 to 18 in Torrevieja.
